Introduzione

Oggi intervistiamo Y, Founder del Sacraspada Team, uno dei più longevi del battling ed attualmente annoverato tra i top team italiani. Guardando alla biografia competitiva di Y certamente notiamo, soprattutto, il titolo di MVP dell'8 Nations 2010 (una importante competizione internazionale) e l'ottenimento della vittoria in ben tre Smogon Tournaments. Risulta poi essere stato aggregato al team Italiano nel 7 Nations 2012 vinto dall'Italia, nel quale ha conseguito uno score personale più che tondo. Attualmente risulta essere tra le SS Legends e continua la propria attività di battler e builder inframmezzandola con la stesura dell'Y Database (una sorta di cosmogologia del pokèweb resa in chiave mitologica e ironica).
Dicono di lui: è probabilmente uno dei player che più ha plasmato il metagame DPPt [cit. Espada]

Lieto di averti qui. Iniziamo immediatamente l'intervista. Come mai proprio il nick Y (e tutti quelli derivati da esso)?
Il nome originale è ''Yoshimitsux'', dopodiché l'ho cambiato diverse volte. Il nome ''Ypsiruonu'' è una storpiatura della ''parola'' Ypsilon in Giapponese, esattamente come ''Eru'' lo è per L di Death Note.

In che modo e quando hai approcciato il Battling?
Battlo dal 2006 dai tempi di ADV, il mio approccio è stato un po' diverso dagli altri probabilmente, all'inizio mi sono dedicato a raccogliere ''informazioni'' sui player più forti, entrare un po' nella loro mentalità; dopodiché tutto è seguito.

Cosa ti ricordi di quel lontano 20 Settembre 2007, giorno di fondazione del Sacraspada?
Quando fondai il SS non mi aspettavo che sarebbe rimasto in vita più di 5 anni, ero nuovo nell'ambiente dei Clan/Team e volevo semplicemente sapere com'era stare in uno di essi.

Se potessi tornare indietro cambieresti qualcosa nel modo in cui hai gestito il tuo team in questi 5 anni e mezzo?
Hah, probabilmente avrei avuto maggior accortezza nei confronti di due membri, Sylar e Jack, i successivi fondatori dell'Angel & Devil e Team Raiden, rispettivamente, certamente ci sono molti altri rimpianti, ma penso che è soprattutto grazie ai problemi che una persona cresce e cambia.

Nel SS Forum non è presente un Hall of Fame a differenza dei forum di altri teams, a cosa è dovuto ciò?
La HoF è privata ma è dedita solamente ai Teams, riguardo la HoF delle competizioni siamo giunti alla conclusione che è inadeguato nel team aprire un topic per vantarsi di vittorie in tornei italiani di poco conto secondo molti.

Non è raro leggere l'accusa "Spacraspada Dragon Spammers" nelle main chat dei server italiani. Cosa ne pensi? Cosa risponderesti a coloro che lo scrivono?
Penso che chiunque dica ciò sia una persona male informata. Iniziamo col dire che il reale nome è Dragon Centered Hyper Offense e queste tipologie di teams funzionano bene solo se ci sono 3 Dragon, 2 Steel 1 Water, inoltre, sono completamente surclassati dai Fight Centered Bulky Offense. Questo ''mito'' è nato per via della finale del Nazionale NBF (i due opponent entrambi SS, btw) quando Castform ha usato un team con 6 Dragon, ma era un team letteralmente 4 fun che non avrebbe mai reale successo competitivo, le sue intenzioni erano trollare la finale, anche a quel punto. Ha usato quel team in una sola battle.

Come mai il SacraSpada, sebbene sia uno tra i teams più riveriti, non è molto presente alle competizioni di squadra?
Il motivo si ricollega alla risposta numero 4, attualmente il SS si sta interessando sulle competizioni di Smogon.

C'è, in particolare, qualche player di altri teams che ti piacerebbe avere al SS?
Mmmh per forza Italiano? Ci sono vecchi battler che ottennero l'appellativo di ''Leggende'' nell'era DP, se essi tornassero al SS e ovviamente giocassero il Metagame attuale mi renderebbe molto felice.

Dicci il nome di un battler che a tuo dire farà la differenza nei prossimi anni.
Io dico BKC una volta ottenuto il ban di Drizzle e successivamente Drought, i veri battler che portano la differenza non sono quelli che vincono i tornei, non importa quanto essi siano importanti, bensì quelli che cambiano completamente il Metagame per loro, e per i giocatori.

Cita 3 qualità necessarie per diventare un overgod del battling.
Tre huh, dunque:
1) Indubbiamente la capacità di raccogliere informazioni sull'andamento del Metagame e dei Top Player per potersi fare proprie idee e migliorare volendo quelle altrui.
2) Realizzare che Game Plan > Predict, i giocatori competitivi di chess (scacchi) non cercano di predictare i giocatori. Predictare significa semplicemente affidarsi al livello di ragionamento del proprio opponent, portando spesso in risultati definiti ''Overpredict'' che segnano la maggior parte delle volte la totale sconfitta, il Gameplan significa affidarsi sulle PROPRIE abilità
3) Buildare molto, più playstyle una persona riesce a ''masterizzare'' più facile sarà per questa persona immedesimarsi nell'opponent sulla scelta di ovvi ragionamenti, ovviamente ciò non va confuso con la predict.

Qual è il motivo, secondo te, per cui l'Italia non riesce ad imporsi alla Smogon World Cup?
Non c'è unione, ognuno fa di testa sua le cose, sfortunatamente il metodo Swiss non risolve questo, certamente pregherò che l'Italia ottenga buoni results.

Tra tutti i set da te creati, quale ritieni abbia inciso maggiormente sul metagame DPPt? Quale usi con più piacere?
Beh, ho fatto anche qualcosa per BW lulz, ma visto che il discorso è DPPT, andrebbe ricordata l'Intimidate Core composta da Gyarados+Hitmontop. Questa blocca gran parte degli attaccanti fisici, allo stesso tempo ha un'ottima sinergia, e Hitmontop, grazie a Foresight, riuscirà a spinnare facilmente. Inoltre entrambi possono essere curati da Heal Bell se Rest diventa un problema, insomma sono un ottimo momentum difensivo per i team difensivi.
C'è poi Chestokou, che ho fatto assieme ad EW. Questo Raikou sfrutta la presenza dei FWG core, o come preferisco chiamarli FGW core. Raikou, approfittando del fatto che la maggioranza dei colpi da questo core è speciale, inizia a setuppare grazie alla sua speed, dopodiché con Rest recupera completamente gli HP... a quel punto si ha un Raikou in piena salute pronto ad eliminare l'opponent. Infine, con Rest può anche battere Blissey nell'1 vs 1 N.B. ovviamente Flygon va eliminato e Tyranitar indebolito.
Altri sets sono PashoTran, probabilmente il miglior StallBreaker di DP, capace di distruggere il core standard degli Stall team composto da Gyarados, Skarmory e Blissey e allo stesso tempo danneggiare pesantemente roba come Rotom-A, Hitmontop e così via; senza dimenticarsi che offre anche l'eliminazione facile di Starmie (lo spinner principale di DP) grazie a Pasho Berry e HP Electric. Heatran è indubbiamente il vero terrore dello Stall, al contrario di Infernape sa esplodere ed ha molta bulkyness naturale, la Speed non gli serve ai livelli di Infernape per fare il suo lavoro.
C'è infine la ''DoubleMind Core'' che usavo sin dai tempi di Latias e Salamence OU, composta da Jirachi WishMind e CMcune. I set possono variare per esempio Suicune Offensive oppure ChestoRest mentre Jirachi SubCM o WishCM (dipende dalle necessità del proprio team) sono stati il core che mi ha permesso di arrivare molteplici volte primo in Ladder e vincere diversi tornei internazionali. Insomma, molto spaventosi da affrontare insieme.
Nel reparto Lead invece ho ideato Gliscor Lead, non il Britscor, tuttavia (quel set non è un buon Lead). Gliscor necessita del max Speed, e soprattutto sia U-turn che Taunt - Roost serve a poco in un lead, gli distrugge solo momentum - mentre U-turn e Yaunt aiutano per recuperare proprio momentum. Nomino anche Haryama, un misto tra Infernape (Fake Out) e un Machamp che non induca Confusion. Oppure, ancora, Gallade capace di 2HKare l'intera Lead tier e soprattutto OHKOare Machamp. C'è poi SashChamp, che successivamente otterrà Thunderpunch; all'inizio SasChamp senza T Punch lo usavo affinchè Choice Band Azelf, salito grazie a Kokoloko di Smogon, non potesse OHKOarmi e quindi avere la meglio, ciò mi ha aiutato anche contro gente come Life Orb Heatran, il quale con Overheat avrebbe OHKOato la versione standard di Machamp. Tra l'altro Gyarados era salito come Lead nel tentativo di fermare lo stesso Machamp, mentre Gliscor aveva perso usage, ed è stato a quel punto che ho sostituito Ice Punch con Thunder Punch per lasciare che rimanesse comunque un ottimo Lead. Mhhh poi - questo è un po' underrated - Sky Attack Aerodactyl che OHKOava machamp Lead e poteva avere matchup migliori.
C'è anche il famosissimo ScarfTyranitar creato da me e Flox sin dal ''lontano'' 2009, ex Admin del SacraSpada, successivamente ho dato Ice Beam a Tyranitar e messa una natura naive affinché potessi colpire Gliscor.
C'è altro, come FasTyranitar ma purtroppo non ho tutto scritto su un foglio e vado per memoria.
Tutt'oggi sto lavorando ad altri set, come DefensiveMind Mismagius, la quale non ha una EVs spread facile da fare, Staraptor, e molti altri ancora. Diciamo che DP ha molto da offrire e mi diverte esplorare queste sue possibilità.

Quale elemento del BW2 Metagame vorresti assolutamente eliminare?
Esattamente quelli che dissi a BKC un annetto fa: Drizzle, Drought e probabilmente anche altri, ma prima andrebbe riesaminata la tier dopo il ban di questi due elementi. Essi favoriscono il Match Up piuttosto che l'abilità di un player, il quale non è affatto ''competitivo''.

A che punto è il progetto Ypsiruonu Database? Come è sorta l'idea di creare un racconto del genere?
Heh, molti team hanno un topic con la propria storia del Team, per il SS ho pensato di farla un po' diversa la cosa, creare una Fan Ficiton che piano piano spiega la sua storia. Attualmente sta per iniziare la ''Saga degli Immortali'' per il Trailer invito i lettori qua.

Yes, quasi sempre, la tipologia cambia spesso ma la maggior parte delle volte rimango ad ascoltare il genere Metal e bella fetta dei suoi sottogeneri.

Qual è l'avversario affrontato che ritieni di avere sopravvalutato maggiormente? E quale quello che hai sottovalutato maggiormente?
Domanda MOLTO interessante, quello che ho sottovalutato è stato indubbiamente Sylar, con le sue abilità sia da Battler, sia da Leader; mentre sopravvalutato... mmmh... probabilmente Kokoloko e Bloo.

Y mi ha insegnato tante cose, sia in ambito pokèlife, sia consigli sulla real life,e ancora continua a farlo. Nulla da dire, un'uomo sicuramente da stimare. Spero di portare avanti l'SS come fece lui, anche se ne dubito, visto che ciò che fece e che tutt'ora fa, è ineguagliabile.
